RISTORANTE DA CESARI / BOLOGNA
Da Cesari’s is one of the Bologna’s best restaurants, and as Bologna is one of the most important food capitals of Italy, this is saying something.
Initially, in the early 20th century, it was an osteria and wine retailer.
In 1955, it was purchased by the Cesari family.
A few years later, it was passed from the first generation of Cesari owners – Ilario Cesario – to the second one, Paolino and his wife Irene.
For decades, Da Cesari has been a Bolognese institution, a cherished meeting place for families to have dinner together.
It is in the historic centre of Bologna, only a few minutes from Piazza Maggiore.
The cuisine is typical of the region, and the tastes are contextualized by a wonderful and rustic (yet elegant) interior, as well as friendly service.
The food is simple, which brings forth the flavours of the ingredients.
The pasta is home-made, and truffle is served when the season allows it.
Vegetables change with the seasons.
The wine-list is focused on Italian regions, but naturally it is preferable to choose a local kind.
