DIVINE INSPIRATION

Out of nowhere, an idea appears, as though it had moved independently and simply decided to make itself known.

Divine inspiration, some call it. In ancient Greece, ideas were not considered to be random thoughts, but were seen as gifts, carefully planted by the nine muses in the minds of certain open-minded and creative individuals.

Even today, a creative idea can seem to appear out of nowhere; a new perspective suddenly and unexpectedly emerges where previously there was nothing.

The phenomenon is a reminder of how we are all part of the same, transcendental field of energy, stretching in all directions and interconnecting through all dimensions, sometimes even surpassing the boundaries between life and death.

Ideas travel seamlessly between worlds, bringing inspiration and knowledge while offering a glimpse of how strange and magical the universe truly is.

When we are offered a new idea on how to create new aesthetic expressions, such as art, photography and design, it is important to recognize it and to be ready for the next step. Ideas need to be developed and brought to life through human creativity.

They need to be given a certain format. Scale is irrelevant: the procedure is the same when creating a unique work of art as when producing an object meant to be duplicated in the thousands.

By thinking about and caring for the creative ideas given to us by the muses, we make them our own. We approach them through our personal experiences and adapt them so that they make sense to us.

We are the translators of ideas, giving them shape so that others also can see, enjoy and learn from them.

In this way, creativity is a collective activity, involving not only the creator but also the original idea, as well as the audience that will find pleasure in taking part of the finished product.

In our daily lives, we are surrounded by things that have gone through this process.

Every single photography, piece of art and design object began as an abstract idea.

The streets we walk on, the shoes we wear, the print on the receipt we discover hidden in the back of a pocket – everything started out as an idea that gradually found its form.

It is in the transformation of ideas into images, shapes and objects that we make sense of the world we live in, and where we have the potential to add to its beauty and create pleasure for others.
