Relais Sant'Uffizio

Relais Sant’Uiffizio is strategically placed in the centre of Piedmont, as it in a remote location, on the top of a hill, but also close to many excellent vineyards as well as being in the middle of the white truffle district.

There are also some very nice towns nearby, known for their charm, like Alba and Casale Monferrato. Here you will find fresh produce and handmade crafts in the local market, allowing you to support the region’s small-scale economy. 

The hotel is housed in a converted monastery, creating a very rustic experience. There are two outdoor pools, a tennis court, and a large spa. This means that it’s a good option even for those not wanting to sample the local wine and white truffle, though it does help if you’re interested in food.

The chef at Locanda Sant’Uffizio, Enrico Bartollini, has received his second Michelin-star, making the hotel’s restaurant a two star-experience. People travel from far away to taste his version of Italian biodiversity and Piedmont’s culinary traditions. 

As in most restaurants at this level, food is seasonally based and locally sourced. The monastery’s former lemon garden has been transformed into a genuine fine-dining experience. 

When it comes to rooms, Relais Sant’Uffizio offers everything from the modest to the extravagant, and so the hotel can both be seen as budget-friendly and a place to splurge.
