Lohi Journal is dedicated to highlighting the locally specific, genuine and authentic, without compromising our interest in aesthetics. We create travel guides based on the slow lifestyle-philosophy. Life is beautiful and we want to celebrate this by sharing our favourite small-scale hotels, organic restaurants, and natural wine bars. It’s about looking at the world in a more holistic way, learning about the history and traditions of the places that we enjoy visiting.
We also produce unique content – images and/or text – on request.
Tomas Falmer and Philip Warkander, founded Lohi Journal together.
For more than two decades, Tomas Falmer worked as a fashion photographer. His images – defined by a minimalist and almost geometrical approach, often using natural light – are easy to recognizable, whether they are part of an editorial or an advertising campaign. After a decade in London, where he worked primarily with fashion magazines and brands, he is now based between Stockholm and Bologna, though his work has him travelling extensively. In 2021, he published the book Sätt att se [Ways of Seeing], an image-driven guide to Capri.
Since Philip Warkander completed his PhD in fashion studies at the Centre of Fashion Studies, Stockholm University, he has worked as a scholar, writer, and curator. He has published several books on fashion and worked as a fashion researcher and senior lecturer at Istituto Marangoni in Paris, Lund University, and The Swedish School of Textiles. He has also worked as a writer, speaker and consultant in the fashion industry. Clients include Prada, Zegna, Our Legacy, ELLE Magazine, and the Modern Museum of Art in Stockholm.
